Two Network Members Receive Grant Through The Women’s Fund

Mohawk Valley Business Women’s Network members Leigh Ann Dillon of Hilltop Marketing and Catherine Dare of TRM Environmental were recently awarded a grant through the Women’s Fund of Herkimer and Oneida Counties. The Women’s Fund, a volunteer driven agency committed to creating a movement to change the lives of women and girls in our area, organized the program to celebrate their 25th Anniversary and to support women in our community.  They awarded five $5,000 grants to five local women-owned businesses, and two of these went to network members Leigh Ann Dillon and Catherine Dare.

“The grant will be used for training in learning how to accommodate the rapid growth of a full-service agency, and to fund some much needed equipment” said Leigh Ann Dillon about the award. “I’m excited to see how this opportunity impacts my business and takes it to the next level.”

Hilltop Marketing, a NYS certified woman owned business based in Frankfort, NY, was founded in 2018 with the goal of helping small businesses tell their story with a modern website.  Hilltop offers website design, branding, digital and print marketing.  Like the other recipients of the grant, Hilltop is at least 51% woman-owned and has been in business for over one year.

Catherine Dare will be using the grant to fund a new website for her rapidly growing business, TRM Environmental. TRM partners with experts and leads a team of field engineers to develop strategic environmental solutions, understanding the critical nature of field work and environmental support while working to ensure a timely and cost effective environmental solution

Other recipients of the grant were:

  • Alisha Gaines-Porter of A-List Salon and Beauty Bar (Utica)
  • Janel Hearn of New Beginnings Academy (Herkimer)
  • Maria Macrina of The Cremeria (Clinton)

For over 25 years, The Women’s Fund has created economic, educational, and personal growth opportunities for women. These opportunities have a huge impact to businesses like Hilltop Marketing and TRM Environmental in recognizing that all small businesses play a significant role in growing our region’s economy, and are worth investing in.
